How is container space measured for international moves?

When we start with the procedures of our international move, many questions arise and one of them is, how is the container where my furniture and belongings will go? This question comes to mind when we are thinking about our finances and deciding what furniture to take to our new home.

At Moving Services we explain the process of measuring a container for an international move and which objects are more favorable to send.
It is important to know that the most important factors in determining the price of container shipping are volume and distance. Very little can be done about the distance, but you always have the possibility to reduce the volume of your furniture to save.

To have a clearer idea of what objects to transport to your new home, we will give you the measurements that are handled in the three different containers that we handle in our organization. There are three kinds of containers Weight, volume:

1. 1×20: 30 m2
2. 1×40: 60 m2
3. 1×40 Icue: 76 m2

The question that arises for us at this moment is, what fits in a 40-feet container, if it is the largest that is handled?
-In a 40-feet container they usually fit between 68 and 70 cubic meters, which is equivalent to a 4-room house.

However, they are not the only factors to consider. Next, we detail the other factors that play a very important role in the final price of sending a container abroad
-Shipping type: Shipping a full container (FCL) will always be more expensive than groupage shared shipping, better known as consolidated cargo (LCL), but the option to select will depend on the volume of your move.
-Shipping mode: The shipping method you choose (land, air, and sea) will depend on and influence the shipping price of the container, but also how long it will take for your belongings to arrive.

Moving Services as moving experts we can tell you for sure that each move has its different process. Therefore, the best type of container shipment will depend on what you want to move. In the event that the volume of your move is small, we recommend that you consider the option of making a consolidated shipment.

However, if the volume of your move is very large or you are transporting delicate items with great value, it is recommended that you opt for a full container shipment to minimize the chances of damage to your belongings.
