To ship household goods from Colombia to Spain without duties or VAT you use transfer-of-residence relief: you must have lived outside the EU for at least 12 consecutive months, owned and used the goods for at least six months, and declare them within 12 months of settling in Spain.

Spanish customs relief (AEAT)

It waives duties and VAT on the personal belongings of anyone moving their normal residence to Spain from outside the European Union.

At least 12 consecutive months of residence outside the EU before the move.
Goods must be yours and used for at least six months before the change of residence (for vehicles, the VAT period is 12 months).
Declare them for free circulation within 12 months of arriving; they can be shipped earlier if you commit to settling within six months, with a guarantee if customs asks.
For 12 months you cannot sell, lend, rent or pledge relieved goods without telling customs first.
Proof of deregistration abroad and of your new residence in Spain, plus a detailed, valued inventory.

Twelve months from the date you settle in Spain. You can also ship before arriving if you commit to moving within six months.

Can I sell my furniture soon after arriving?

Which Spanish port do you use for Madrid?
